Company History
1988 Witwatersrand Mining Supply Corporation (PTY) Ltd – trading as WIMICO – starts as a joint venture of WILLICH GmbH (Germany) and Kloeckner Becorit GmbH (Germany).
1992 Kloeckner Becorit GmbH withdraws from the JV and WIMICO remains as a branch of WILLICH GmbH
2003 Management buy-out (100% shares), Directors: Gerd and Jutta Bartkowiak
2014 WIMICO ESOP Trust acquires 26% shares
2017 QALA Developments (PTY) Ltd acquires 74% shares; Directorship transferred to Alfred Higgo, Antje Bartkowiak-Higgo and Suhana Kohlöffel-Neerahoo
2021 WIMICO Soft Rock (PTY) Ltd is founded as new entity to offer specialised services to the relevant mining industry (coal)
